Motorway bridge constructed using the free cantilever method

Bridge Kamacnik, part of the section Kupjak-Vukova Gorica, Motorway Rijeka - Zagreb, Croatia

The Kamazcnik Bridge is located between Bosiljevo and Vukova Gorica on the Rijeka - Zagreb Motorway, crossing the canyon about 60 m above the river bed.

The bridge lies in a horizontal curve and has in longitudinal direction a slope of 5.7 % as well as in transverse direction a slope of 4.2 %.The length of the bridge is 237 m with main spans of 70 m + 125 m + 23.5 m and is divided into two independent 13 m wide decks.

Each prestressed hollow box girder superstructure is constructed using the free cantilever method by employing three sets of DYWIDAG Formtravellers and DYWIDAG Post-Tensioning Strand Tendons type 19-0.6".

Completion of the bridge is expected middle of 2003.
