ACI tunnel ribs and wood lagging

Beginning with steel liner plates installed in the Gratiot Avenue and Seven Mile Road Sewer system in Detroit, Michigan in 1922, we are today one of the leading designers and manufacturers of underground steel supports in North America.
The first solid, square-cornered tunnel liner plates were designed and patented by Commercial in 1926 for use in the pioneer bore of Moffat Tunnel in Colorado, declared at the time to be the year's outstanding engineering achievement.

A year later, we also designed and patented the first steel linings for use with shields in driving the land section of the Detroit-Windsor vehicular tunnel. Our experience in the art of tunneling spans over half a century and thousands of projects, great and small, on six continents.

Underground supports by American Commercial are designed specifically for the requirements of each project. They may be permanent or temporary. Because geological conditions dictate the type of support needed to control ground after excavation, our supports are designed in a nearly endless variety of strengths, thicknesses, sizes, configurations, and compositions to control every condition known.

American Commercial Inc. has extensive manufacturing capabilities spread throughout its operations. With its long history, reputation & relationships American Commercial Inc. represents numerous overseas products for construction and mining projects here in North America.
